Apartment Moving
Studios to three-bedroom flats, third-floor walk-ups and elevator buildings, with the building paperwork handled.
Providence Premier Movers are long distance movers in Providence, RI for moves into Massachusetts and Connecticut. The crew that pads your dresser on Hope Street is the crew that carries it in at the other end.

We keep our long distance moves inside southern New England on purpose: Greater Boston, Worcester, the South Coast and the Cape, Hartford, New Haven and the shoreline. Close enough that the truck that leaves Providence at 8 usually backs into your new driveway that afternoon. Keys back by dark.
Your things ride one truck with one crew the whole way. No transfer to a bigger trailer, no depot, no stranger unloading at the far end who never saw how it was packed. In our experience that's where most long distance damage happens, in the handoffs. If the new place isn't ready, the load waits in storage, and our packing crew can box up the house the day before.

About an hour up I-95 when traffic behaves, which isn't often after 3. We load early, so most two-bedrooms headed for Greater Boston are inside by mid-afternoon. Boston's building and street permit rules are strict, so we help you sort them out ahead.
Route 146 straight up to Worcester, roughly an hour past Lincoln and Woonsocket. Lots of these are people starting at a hospital or a college, often into second-floor apartments with tight stairs that feel a lot like home.
Fall River, New Bedford, Plymouth and the Cape. Summer Saturdays at the bridges are rough, so we start at 7 and aim to be over the canal before the beach traffic is.
Hartford, New Haven, New London and the I-95 shoreline towns. Nearly all of them are one-day moves: loaded in the morning, unloaded before dinner.
Moving here from Massachusetts or Connecticut? We pick up there and deliver to Providence or the suburbs. We've moved a lot of people into triple-deckers who had never seen a back staircase that steep.
For moves past Massachusetts and Connecticut, give us the details. Honestly, we'd rather tell you no on the first call than book something our crew can't do well.

Long distance movers from Providence cost about $1,900 to $3,200 for a two-bedroom apartment going to Greater Boston and $3,200 to $5,200 for a three-bedroom house going to Massachusetts or Connecticut in 2026. Price depends on how much you own, stairs at both ends, the distance and whether we pack for you.
Goodmigrations puts a one-bedroom move from Rhode Island to a neighboring state at $1,500 to $3,500, with summer adding 20 to 30 percent. We write ours from a walk-through or a video call, never a phone guess. A mover who quotes a three-bedroom house sight unseen is guessing, and guesses tend to grow on moving day.
| Move | Crew | Typical day | Typical price |

| 2-bedroom, Providence to Boston area | 3 movers | 1 day | $1,900 to $3,200 |
| 2-bedroom, Providence to Hartford | 3 movers | 1 day | $2,000 to $3,300 |
| 3-bedroom house, Providence to Worcester | 4 movers | 1 to 2 days | $3,200 to $5,200 |
A binding estimate is a written price that can't go up on moving day unless you add items or services. With a non-binding estimate, federal rules say an interstate mover can only collect 110 percent of the estimate at delivery, with the rest due within 30 days. Ask for the estimate type in writing before you book.
Interstate movers must offer two kinds of protection. Released value protection is free but pays only 60 cents a pound per item, so a 30 pound TV is covered for $18. Full value protection costs extra and means the mover repairs, replaces or pays the current value. For anything you would miss, buy full value.
On a two-bedroom, our crew pulls up at 8, walks the rooms with you and starts the inventory. Loading runs about four hours. We aim to be on I-95 by noon to beat the afternoon crawl, and unloading starts around 2. Beds go together first so you can sleep, then boxes go room by room off the labels.
Any company that moves household goods across state lines needs a USDOT number from the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration. Look it up on the FMCSA website before you book and read the complaint history. Make sure the name on the registration matches the name on your estimate, and that you get the federal booklet Your Rights and Responsibilities When You Move.
Crew size, hourly rate and a time range on paper before moving day. No cash deposits.
Be careful with them. A broker sells your move to a carrier you've never met, and the price can change when that truck shows up. We think you should book a company that owns its trucks and sends its own crew. Ask exactly who will load and drive your things before you sign anything.
Move less and move midweek. Every box you donate is weight you don't pay to haul, and our Tuesday crews are never fighting month-end traffic. Packing the easy rooms yourself and leaving the kitchen to us trims the bill too, without risking the plates.
Yes. If the new place isn't ready, we hold the load in our climate-controlled warehouse in sealed vaults and deliver when the date is firm. It is common when a closing slips by a week. Storage is billed by the month, and delivery is scheduled with about a week's notice.

A two-bedroom apartment move from Providence to the Boston area usually costs $1,900 to $3,200 in 2026, and a one-bedroom about $1,350 to $2,100. Stairs, elevators, parking at both ends and packing change the price. We give a written estimate after a walk-through or a video call.
Most of our moves from Providence to Hartford, New Haven or the shoreline are loaded and delivered in one day. For a two-bedroom, our three movers load in about four hours, drive an hour or two, and unload in about three. A big house can roll into a second day, and we tell you that up front.
Yes. Any company moving household goods across state lines must be registered with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration and carry a USDOT number. Look it up on the FMCSA website before booking, check the company's complaint history, and make sure the name on the registration matches the name on your estimate.
Our regular out-of-state work runs to Massachusetts and Connecticut. For anything farther, call with the details and the dates. We'll tell you plainly whether our crew can do it, and if we can't, you hear that on the first call, before you plan a single thing around us.
In spring and summer, four to six weeks ahead. The rest of the year, two to three weeks is usually enough. That gives us time for the walk-through, the written estimate and the paperwork at both buildings. Month-end Fridays and Saturdays fill first, so we always suggest a midweek date if you have a choice.
