Apartment Moving
Studios to three-bedroom flats, third-floor walk-ups and elevator buildings, with the building paperwork handled.
Providence Premier Movers are movers in Lincoln, RI for colonials on wooded lots, mill-village houses in Manville and Albion, and condos off Route 116. We pack, carry, store and drive, and we know which way Route 146 backs up in the morning.

Lincoln moves usually come down to the driveway. Plenty of houses here sit back on wooded lots with a long, sloped drive, and some are gravel. A 26 ft truck can go up most of them. Some it can't, and on those we park at the road and run dollies. We'd rather spend ten minutes looking on the walk-through than an hour finding out on the day. The mill villages along the Blackstone are the opposite: houses right on the street and no driveway at all. Our trucks carry 2 four-wheel dollies for exactly that.

Questions?Contact UsRoute 146 is the road between Lincoln and Providence, and southbound it crawls on weekday mornings. For a move into the city we load Lincoln first thing and drive mid-morning, once the commute clears. Moving north to Woonsocket or out to Smithfield? The timing hardly matters.
Live near Route 116 and the casino? Big events there pack the roads on weekend evenings, so we finish those moves by mid-afternoon. And for a wooded lot, trim back any low branches over the drive. A box truck is 13 feet tall. A good moving company in Lincoln, RI will ask about your driveway and the trees before the truck ever shows up.
Lincoln has 22,529 people in about 9,500 homes, about 10 miles north of downtown Providence. It's a town of villages: Manville, Albion, Lime Rock, Lonsdale, Fairlawn, Quinnville and Saylesville. Most moves are family houses, plus a steady run of condo and townhouse moves off the main roads.
Two-story colonials and raised ranches on half-acre or bigger lots, many from the 1960s to the 1990s. Finished basements, two-car garages and sheds. Three movers handle most three-bedroom houses in six to eight hours; four-bedroom colonials take four movers.
Older mill-village houses along the Blackstone River, close to the street with narrow stairs and small rooms. We plan parking first, then take beds and tables apart before the stairs.
Townhouse condos with two floors and a garage, often with association rules on move hours and where the truck may stand. Two or three movers, three to five hours.
Lincoln still has a few colonial stone-ender houses and old farmhouses with low doors and steep stairs. Furniture in these often came in before the walls were finished, so we check what can actually come out.
Most Lincoln moves cost $560 to $2,700 in 2026. Two movers and a truck are $165 an hour, three are $215 and four are $265, with a 3-hour minimum. Travel time is billed once, usually 25 minutes. A long gravel driveway where we park at the road adds carrying time.

A box truck needs room to turn and about 13 feet of clearance. On a long or steep drive, we look at three things: whether the truck can back up and pull out without cutting across the lawn, whether branches hang low, and whether the surface holds a loaded truck after rain. Wet gravel and a 26 footer don't always agree.
When the truck can't go up, it parks at the road and we run four-wheel dollies and an appliance hand truck up and down the drive. It adds time, and the estimate says so up front. Last spring we moved a Lime Rock colonial that way in eight and a half hours, which was about an hour more than the same house with a paved drive.
On the driveway runs, a four-wheel dolly takes the dressers and box stacks, and the appliance hand truck takes the washer, the fridge and the safe. Inside, floor runners and door jamb protectors go down first. Upholstery travels under moving blankets and shrink wrap. Beds go in a mattress bag. The kitchen goes in a dish pack with kraft paper and newsprint. Need time before the new place is ready? A sealed storage vault waits for you.
A lot of Lincoln buyers come up from Providence apartments, trading a third-floor walk-up on the East Side for a yard off Route 116. Those are some of our favorite moves: the hard part is the Providence end, with its stairs and street parking, and the Lincoln end is a driveway and a ground floor. We file for the city's no-parking signs two business days ahead when the old block is tight.
Going north instead? Our crews cover Woonsocket as well, triple-deckers and hills included.
Most of the time. A box truck needs about 13 feet of clearance and a firm surface, and room to back out. We check low branches, the slope and the turnaround on the walk-through. If it can't go up safely, we park at the road and roll everything on dollies, and the estimate shows the extra time.
Yes. We load your furniture into sealed wooden vaults at the old house and keep them in climate-controlled storage until the build is done, then deliver straight to the new rooms. Storage runs $95 to $150 a month per vault, and a three-bedroom house usually fills five or six.
Yes. A gun safe goes on an appliance hand truck with extra straps, and a basement safe usually takes three or four movers. Empty it and remove the shelves first. Tell us the make, height and weight when you call, so we bring the right crew and plan the stairs.
Only a little. Travel time from our yard is billed once at the crew's hourly rate, and Lincoln is usually about 25 minutes away. The bigger price drivers are the house size, the stairs and the driveway, not the drive.
