From a Fox Point Moving Crew to Our Own Trucks
Dan Medeiros grew up a few streets off Wickenden, where every September the street filled with rental trucks and students carrying futons. The summer he turned nineteen he took a job on a moving crew for what he thought would be one season. He stayed more than twenty years, ran crews of his own, and learned most of what he knows on the back stairs of triple-deckers in Elmhurst and Mount Pleasant.
Running the company changed the paperwork. Not the habits. Every house over two bedrooms still gets a walk-through before a price goes on paper. Each of our trucks still carries 60 moving blankets and 2 four-wheel dollies. There's an appliance hand truck on board too. Floor runners and door jamb pads ride in the cab. Every time. And every piece of furniture is padded, wrapped and strapped before it moves an inch.
Our crews have done more than 10,000 moves across Rhode Island. We've seen every kind of stairwell. Most are ordinary days: a one-bedroom on Federal Hill, a family house in Cranston, a piano that has to come down a turn in the stairs. We like it that way. An ordinary move is one where nothing went wrong.
Providence Premier Movers works seven days a week, rain or snow. We carry the insurance building managers ask for. In-state movers in Rhode Island are licensed by the RI Division of Public Utilities and Carriers, which also approves their rates, and we're happy to walk you through how that works when you call.
