Apartment Moving
Studios to three-bedroom flats, third-floor walk-ups and elevator buildings, with the building paperwork handled.
Providence Premier Movers take last minute moves in Providence, RI when a crew is free. A lease that ends early, a closing that moved up, a landlord with a deadline: call with your date and we tell you quickly if we can do it.

Often, yes. Leases fall through, closings move up and a landlord sometimes gives you a week. Call us with the date, the floors at both ends and the big pieces, and if a crew and a truck are free we take the job. We would rather tell you a straight no on the phone than promise a date we cannot keep.
The more you can tell us, the faster the quote. Mid-week dates are easiest to find, and month-end weekends are the hardest. If your date is full, we will say so and suggest the closest day that works.

Questions?Contact UsShort notice happens for a few common reasons. These are the ones we hear most.
A landlord sells or a sublet falls through and you have days, not weeks. Call right away with the date.
The keys are yours sooner than planned. Tell us the date and the size of the home and we line up a crew if one is free.
A new job in another part of the state. Small moves are the easiest to fit in, so a studio or one-bedroom is often doable.
Landlords and property owners with a unit to turn over fast can call for a crew, billed at the hourly rate.
One sofa or one dresser is quick to schedule. See furniture moving.
If boxes are the bottleneck, ask about packing services in the same call.
Written quote before moving day. Tell us your date and we tell you if a crew is free.
A last-minute move costs the same hourly rate as any local move: about $165 an hour for two movers and a truck in 2026, $215 for three and $265 for four, with a three-hour minimum. We do not add a rush fee. What changes is how much of your own packing is done, so the clock runs longer.
| Move | Crew | Typical time | Typical price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Studio or 1-bedroom, boxed and ready | 2 movers | 3 to 4 hours | $480 to $760 |
| Studio or 1-bedroom, not packed | 3 movers | 4 to 5 hours | $650 to $1,075 |
| 2-bedroom, mostly packed | 3 movers | 4 to 6 hours | $780 to $1,250 |
| 2-bedroom, not packed | 4 movers | 6 to 8 hours | $1,590 to $2,120 |

Call for a date before anything else. Then pack the things you use least: books, winter clothes, the dining room. Strip the beds last. Leave the kitchen for the final evening, or ask about packing services if there is no time.
Fragile things in small boxes, heavy things in small boxes, and a bag for the first night with chargers, toiletries and a change of clothes. Everything else can be loaded as it is. Drawers can stay filled if the dresser is light enough to carry.
You call, we confirm a date and a crew size, and you get a written price. On the day the crew pads the furniture, loads the truck and unloads in the right rooms. Nothing about the move itself is rushed just because the booking was.
Lease-end dates and sudden closings are most of the last-minute calls in neighborhoods like Federal Hill, Elmhurst and Pawtucket. Older buildings have tight stairs, so a quick description of the entrance saves time on the day.
Crew size, hourly rate and a time range on paper before moving day. No cash deposits.
Sometimes. It comes down to whether a crew and a truck are free that day. Call as early in the day as you can and tell us the address and the size of the move.
Then the crew packs as it goes, or you book packing services for the kitchen and the breakables. Either way the price reflects the extra hours.
The hourly rate does not change. Weekends are just harder to find, so a weekday gives you the best chance on short notice.

Yes, when a crew and a truck are free. Call with the date, the floors and the big pieces, and we tell you right away if we can take it.
No rush fee. A last-minute move is billed at the normal hourly rate with the three-hour minimum. Unpacked homes just take more hours.
It depends on the week. Mid-week days are the easiest to find, and month-end weekends are the hardest. Call and ask. If we are full, we will suggest the closest open day.
Yes, ask about packing services when you call. Packing adds hours, so the quote will show it.
The date, both addresses or at least the towns, the floors and stairs, and a list of the biggest pieces. A few photos help.
